Family Healthy Choices, Inc. is a nonprofit agency providing educational services to promote well-being and healthy decision-making for families and family members.
Challenges in the life cycle of the family begin at courtship, continue throughout marriage and parenting, and end with death of the last surviving spouse. Divorcing parents may encounter specific challenges as they work to help the family adjust to this transition in the life of the family. The "Family Healthy Choices" approach provides training and education for an integrated model of family growth and development.
“Family Healthy Choices” emphasizes informed choices and resolving conflict through effective problem solving and negotiation.
Family Healthy Choices offers Parenting Education classes for divorcing parents at Massachusetts General Hospital, Tufts Medical Center, Danvers Public Library and Newburyport High School. ALL OF THE FAMILY HEALTHY CHOICES PARENTING EDUCATION CLASSES HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE COURT.
You may register for these classes online. To register online simply click the "Married Parents" tab above and then select the site of your choice to register for the class most convenient for you.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WEB PAGE DOES NOT PROVIDE AN "AUTOMATIC" RESPONSE TO ONLINE REGISTRATIONS. WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU WITH CONFIRMATION OF YOUR REGISTRATION AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.
We are pleased to provide instruction for Spanish speaking divorcing parents attending the program at Tufts Medical Center. Spanish speaking parents will be provided a copy of course materials in Spanish and at specified times during each session a Spanish speaking instructor will be available to lead a separate discussion with Spanish speaking participants.
Family Healthy Choices, in collaboration with Parent Education Group, is pleased to now offer an ONLINE & CLASSROOM PROGRAM for parenting education for divorcing parents in Suffolk and Essex counties. This "hybrid" approach is currently available in Danvers, Newburyport, and at Tufts Medical Center.
Divorcing parents may elect to receive their parenting education certificate by participating in this hybrid program. Rather than the traditional two sessions that include 5 hours of classroom time, parents may now watch the 112 minute KidCare video online and participate in a single classroom session of 3 hours. Once you have watched the video and attended the classroom session you will receive your certificate. Simply click on the ONLINE & CLASSROOM tab at the top of this page
for instructions on registering for this pilot program.
CLASSES FOR UNMARRIED PARENTS
Family Healthy Choices no longer offers a separate Parenting Education for unmarried parents. If the Judge orders you to take one of the parenting education classes for divorcing parents, you may register online for classes at any of the FHC locations noted above.
